Top 10 Hollywood Celebrities - Nail Trends

Were not the typical French tip sort of bunch. Instead, were always on the lookout for a fresh approach to innovate your nail routine. This season, weve turned to the celebs to define our top nail shades. Take a peek at the Hollywood trendsetters whove nailed the spring trends. click read more option to see more 10 photos

1. Azure Tips

Jessica Simpsons style has been under question as of late, but if anything, shes managed to keep her nails on trend. However, her cobalt blue tips were a little too complementary when paired with her matching strapless dress. Given that blue isnt the easiest shade to pull off, we can appreciate her bold decision.

2. Hot Pink

Kim Kardashian puts the hot in pink while making her weekly trips to the nail salon. Neon colors have remained on the spring menu for the last few seasons and 2010 is no different. Even with a million shades to choose from, hot pink still stands out. Its back this spring and is brighter than ever.

3. All Natural

The nude trend has taken over your closets and now has its sights set on your nails. At the 2010 Kids Choice Awards, Rihanna went for a head-to-toe nearly nude look that stole the show. We couldnt help but notice her faintly tinted pink nails, which proved that soft and subtle is often underestimated.

4. Sparkle and Shine

Jennifer Lopez has made quite the style turnaround and her nails have also joined the party. At The Back-up Plan premiere, she made a glimmering appearance in a silver Gianfranco Ferr dress and embellished nails. Ditch the typical lacquered tips and opt for a sparkling finish.

5. Mushroom Nails

Stars like Demi Moore have accessorized their glamorous gowns with mushroom-hued nails, while others have shunned the muddy hue. At the height of the neutral trend this murky color has become a top pick amongst celebs. What do you think of the unusual shade?

6. Ebony Tips

Dark nails are no longer reserved for those going for the goth lookjust ask Khloe Kardashian. Her gloomy nails have been on-trend for the last few seasons and are holding strong this spring in a variety of somber shades.

7. Minty Fresh

With the pastel movement on the rise, Easter-egg colors dominate nail shades for spring. Soft hues like pale pink and lilac are among the best in show. Drew Barrymore flaunted perfectly manicured mint tips, which added great flair to her look.

8. Classic Red

You cant go wrong with a classic shade of red. Not only are red lips making a comeback, but fiery red nails are also heating up the season. The City star Olivia Palermo gave the timeless shade a contemporary feel with a short, rounded shape.

9. The Reverse French

Tired of the outdated French manicure? Try the reverse French, which is sweeping the runways. The look is best suited for longer nails as seen on showgirl Dita Von Teese, whos been donning the look for quite some time now. To get the look, try a white base coat and then experiment with vibrant hues on the tip.

10. Make a Statement

Rihanna is a trendsetter when it comes to all things fashion and her ever-changing nails are also setting the pace. Her bejeweled cheetah-print nails kept her looking glamourous even while donning a hoodie.

Bollywood Film Veer Zara: Rewritten

When I first read this news, the story reminded me of the Bollywood movie Veer Zara: an eternal love story about a girl from Pakistan and a boy from India, the lovers who crossed all the shackles of religion, caste and differences, depicting that love knows no boundaries.

Here is the news: In a heart melting cross border romance, Chinese girl Yi Yan Yun crossed seven oceans all the way to meet her Indian beau Muhamed Jasim. The emotional part comes now. Both are physically handicapped; cant hear or speak, but as it is said Love understands its own language. they were destined to meet online three years back! Continue Reading.....

On knowing that her lover Muhamed had met with a severe accident, Yun flew all the way to India and took care of her sooo-fortunate lover all this while! Now such is the case that the couple refuses to part away from each other. Their bodies are separate but their souls are linked with each other, courtesy a pure bond called LOVE.

But destiny has something else in stored for them. Yun is facing serious Visa problems, just like the climax played huge hurdles in the relationship of Veer and Zara in the movie. Yuns visa is about to expire and there are chances that she might be arrested after the recommended period of stay gets over! She has a choice of marrying her Veer (her lover), but the formalities under Indias Special Marriages Act would take a minimum of 30 days, which means the wait would prolong further.

Now all that the family is awaiting is a No Objection Certificate from the Chinese embassy so that the couple gets a green signal to be each others forever! We also hope that things work out easily for this unique couple in love!

At the end of the day, I just have one thing to say. Love has its own language of emotions. Despite being deaf and dumb, the intensity of their love crossed all the limitations and proved the world that no culture or religion has the power to separate them from each other. If one is destined to love, the cupid would strike you, no matter how many hurdles you have in your life! No language was required to define their love.

But whats the solution to these problems? Do couples like Yi Yan Yun and Muhamed Jasim would continue to face similar situations in the future also? Should there not be special visas to deal with similar cases? Or we will have similar Veer Zara stories to be re written in future also? What do you say?

Highest ODI Score By Sachin Tendulkar World Record

Sachin Tendulkar Indian master blaster batsman broke the record of Pakistani batsman Saeed Anwar. Saeed Anwar made 194 runs in 1998 and then leveled by a Zimbabwian batsman recently. No one broke the record of Saeed Anwar still Jan 2010 but in 24 Feb of 2010 the excellent batting of Sachin Taendulkar with 200* runs, he broke the record.

At the end of match with completing double hundred he said: It feels good that I lasted for 50 overs, a good test of my fitness. Id like to bat another 50 overs at some stage and see that the fitness level doesnt drop, Tendulkar said after his effort helped India take a unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The ball was coming onto the bat and I was striking the ball well. So when everything falls into its place, it feels nice. It was one of the innings where I felt I was moving well. Since I was timing the ball well, I could be more aggressive and put pressure on the bowlers.

A Brief History: Same-Sex Marriage in California and Prop 8

So, are you mystified about the state of same-sex marriage in California? At first glance it looks easy. On one side, youve got your proponents of same-sex marriage: Advocacy groups like the ACLU; big corporations like Google; and Americans everywhere who think that other peoples romantic lives are none of their business. And on the other side youve got rich Mormons, Carrie Prejean, and people who think that marriage is a totally sacred institution thats always been treated with the utmost respect throughout all of human history and nobody ever gets divorced and Ted Haggard was FRAMED dammit.

But look a little closer, and youll find that California has a weird and complex relationship with same-sex marriage, and that proponents of opposite marriage, as the eminent Ms. Prejean has termed it, have had quite a fight on their hands when it comes to preserving their way of life, which by the way is honorable and traditional and totally without any problems. Also whenever gay people get married God gives a kitten pancreatic cancer.

Sorry. My point is that the recent history of marriage in California is a bit of a labyrinth, and if youre going to try to understand the case that began in court last week Perry v. Schwarzenegger youre going to have to learn a little history.

So here it is.

1977
The California State Assembly amends language in state law to ensure that marriage may only exist between a man and a woman. But ambiguity in the law allows same-sex marriages performed in other states to be recognized here.

November 2000
Caifornia voters pass Proposition 22, which prohibits the state from recognizing same-sex marriages.

February March 2004
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom orders that city and county workers revise marriage forms and begin allowing gay couples to marry, in direct contravention of Proposition 22. The next day, two conservative groups, the Proposition 22 Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Campaign for California Families, file a court action to stop the marriages from being performed. By March, the California Supreme Court halts the weddings.

August 2004
The California Supreme Court rules that the marriages performed in February and March are void.

May 2008
A series of legal proceedings resulting from the conservative groups court actions results in the California Supreme Court case known as In re Marriage Cases. In the case, the court renders Proposition 22 invalid, holding that statutes limiting marriage to hetero couples violates state constitution. Same-sex couples begin marrying.

November 2008
Prop 8 passes, amending the state constitution and limiting marriage to men and women.

May 2009
In Strauss v.Horton, The California Supreme Court holds that Prop 8 was lawful but that marriages performed before it was passed after In re Marriage Cases but before the constitutional amendment, are valid. A few days before this, the American Foundation for Equal Rights, a nonprofit advocacy group, files suit in federal court, challenging the validity of Prop 8 under the U.S. Constitution on behalf of two same-sex couples. Notably, the attorneys arguing the case are Ted Olsen and David Boies, who argued opposite sides of Bush v. Gore. The case is known as Perry v. Schwarzenegger.

January 11-15, 2010
Perry v. Schwarzenegger begins. During its first week, several notable developments occur:

  • In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court bars U.S. District Judge Vaughan R. Walker, the judge hearing Perry, from broadcasting the trial on television. The majority opinion agrees with Prop 8 proponents that releasing video of the witnesses could subject them to potential harm.
  • Olsen presents an animus argument, asserting that animosity toward gays and lesbians drove anti-same-sex-marriage advocates to pursue Prop 8. The argument has precedent: In Romer v. Evans, a 1995 Supreme Court case, the Court ruled that a Colorado law, which prevented gays from legal protections, was based on animosity toward gays and therefore unconstitutional.
  • To prove animus, Olsen presents a letter written by Hak-Shing William Tam of the Traditional Family Coalition, a Prop 8 organizer. In the letter, Tam equated same-sex marriage with prostitution and sex with children, and asserted that legalizing same-sex marriage would result in California falling into Satans hands. Earlier in the month, Tam, a defender in the case, had asked Judge Walker to remove him from the case, fearing publicity that could endanger him and his family. Walker has yet to rule on the request.
  • Testimony was offered by Cambridge University professor Michael Lamb, whose research showed that same-sex couples are equally capable of raising children as heterosexual couples. Lawyers for the Prop 8 campaign referred to Lamb as a committed liberal whose testimony was ideologically tainted.
  • Also testifying was Helen Zia, who claimed that marrying her partner gave their relationship a legitimacy that couldnt be matched by a domestic partnership.

Next week, San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders is expected to take the stand in defense of same-sex marriage. Sanders is noteworthy for having changed his stance on gay marriage from anti to pro after learning his daughter was a lesbian.

Unique Experience of Animal Fashion Show in India

If You Think Only Models Can Walk The Ramp, You Are Mistaken. You must have heard of fashion designers, fashion weeks and most certainly fashion shows. If you think only models can walk the ramp, you are mistaken. This year once again, continuing its tradition, The Bombay Veterinary College at Parel held a fashion show, no not the normal one, but a Pet fashion show.

A large number of dogs from numerous breeds participated in the show. There were twin pugs, Labradors, a Neapolitan Mastiff, a Miniature Pinscher, a Great Dane, an Irish setter and many more, all of which were spotlessly clean and well groomed. These dogs walked in with their owners, fashionably late. Instead of bothering about the fashion show the bigger dogs were busy socializing with each other with loud barks and the tiny ones socialized with soft grunts.

Since it wasnt a competition, at the end of the day everyone emerged a winner. The incessant applauses and words of encouragement made each dog and owner feel special. Needless to say, the fashion show was a big hit this year and the organisers promised an even bigger and better one.

Anti Ageing Exercise Effect

A new study has shown that exercise can fight ageing at the cellular level. Researchers from Saarland University discovered that telomeres shortened less quickly in key immune cells of athletes with a long history of endurance training.

Telomeres are protective caps on the chromosomes that keep a cells DNA stable but shorten with age. During the study, researchers measured the length of telomeres in blood samples from two groups of professional athletes and two groups of people who were healthy non-smokers, but who did not take regular exercise.

The findings revealed that physical exercise of the professional athletes led to activation of an enzyme called telomerase, which helped to stabilise telomeres. This reduced the telomere shortening in leukocytes, a type of white blood cell that plays a key role in fighting infection and disease.

The History Of Christmas

You know that what is Christmas or Christmas Day? Christmas, as we know it today, is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, which happened over 2000 years ago. The word Christmas translates to Mass of Christ. The festival of Christmas takes place on 25th December, every year to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, but this date is not known to be Jesus actual birthday, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either the day exactly nine months after some early Christians believed Jesus had been conceived, a historical Roman festival, or the date of the northern hemispheres winter solstice. So Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.

Christmas is also known as Christian holiday. Christian celebrated by and Christian and non-Christians. Christmas is also celebrated as a secular holiday throughout the world, including countries with small Christian populations like India. Google Nexus One Phone Has launched

Google Nexus One, the most-awaited mobile phone of the year, is ready for launch. Google has confirmed that it is working on its own phone, which will be called the Google Nexus One. In the last few days, the internet was bombarded with rumors of the Google phone being called the Google Nexus One.The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the name Nexus One, also said that Google would directly sell its phone to customers, by 2010. Google has now confirmed the news and said that the Google Nexus One will be launched by January 2010.

The Google Nexus One phone is said to bear an uncanny resemblance to the HTC Passion Android phone, that is in the pipeline. This has led to speculation that the Google Nexus One will be manufactured by HTC, and sold online by Google under its own brand name. Google has not confirmed that the phone will be manufactured by HTC.

Nexus One price:

Google will sell the phone unlocked, so customers will have to buy their mobile phone services separately. In contrast, most of the mobile phone makers work with a wireless carrier like AT&T or Verizon, before finalizing the design of the product. Google Nexus One will not be locked to wireless carrier. However, this also means that the price subsidies usually offered by wireless carriers will not available with the Google Nexus One. How much difference does the price subsidy make? Well, an iPhone in the US with a 2-year contract is available from AT&T for $200, while an iPhone from China Unicom in China costs the equivalent of $732. The absence of a carrier tie-up may push up the actual sale price of the Google Nexus One. Any price which compares well with iPhone is bound to have a lot of takers, especially since the Android Market is growing faster than Apples iPhone App Store. Itproportal has reported that Mario Queiroz, Vice President, Product Management at Google, has said in a post on Googles official mobile blog that the company has started a dogfooding (giving the phone to employees for testing) process for a phone. Querioz is said to have described, in the post, a concept of a mobile lab that is a device combining innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on Android to experiment with new mobile features.

Nexus One price and features:

Specifications of the Google Nexus One are thin on the ground but from what is known so far the phone will run the Android 2.1 operating system. We can safely expect to be loaded with the latest versions of all applications from Google. There are no indications whether it will be a GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone or a CDMA-EVDO phone. Nexus One may even be a world phone, boasting CDMA and GSM capabilities in one package. One can safely assume that the Nexus One will come with WiFi, 3G capability, wireless syncing, HSDPA/HSUPA and good multimedia features. Googles Navigation with turn-by-turn voice directions and satellite imagery are likely to come with the Nexus One.

Unconfirmed reports say that the Nexus One will have a 1-GHz snapdragon processor with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. The phone will have a 4.3-inch capacitive display screen, virtual keyboard, scroll wheel, 5-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-and GPS. The Google Nexus One will take on the popular iPhone 3GS head on. It is believed that Google has directly supervised the minutest details of the design of Google Nexus One. Google has staked its prestige on the success of the Nexus One, which will be the companys first hardware product. Google has so far confined itself to the software space, focusing on search technology, applications and platforms. The launch of Nexus One puts the company in direct opposition to two big entrenched business segments; handset markets and wireless carriers. Handset makers like HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung, who have been building mobile phones with Android, will feel betrayed, since it is they who popularized Android which was a fledgling new mobile operating system just a year back. Wireless carriers in US and Europe, who have a stranglehold on the features and specifications of all mobile phones running on their networks, will not have similar control over the Google Nexus One. It will be interesting to see how AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint view the entry of Nexus One into their networks. A couple of months back, Apple blocked Google Voice from its online App Store, sparking speculation that its hand was forced by AT&T, which feared cannibalization of its voice traffic.
