ANOTHER MAGAZINE COVER FOR TOM FORD

Tom Ford – fashion powerhouse, film mogul and old school romantic – is the cover star of the spring/summer 2011 issue of Another Man. Alongside web exclusive images from Jeff Burton's shoot, AnOther presents Tom Ford's five easy lessons in how to be a modern gentleman, taken from Jefferson Hack's intimate conversation which appears in full in the issue.

1. You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.

2. A gentleman today has to work. People who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. You have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.

3. Manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. I always open doors for women, I carry their coat, I make sure that they're walking on the inside of the street. Stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.

4. Don't be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.

5. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.

Photobucket

Tom Ford walked out on his fashion career in 2004. The fashion world cringed. Imagine the designer that rerouted fashion to sophistication and glamour making his exit at his peak. What we didn't know was Ford's peak was yet to come. Follow John Currin and Tom Ford as they discuss beautiful women, his naked interview and surprise, surprise sexuality. Read the interview here.
"The end result is something that other people consider sexual, but for me it’s just beautiful."

Inspiration Saturdays: A single man

Inspiration often comes out of nowhere. Paul Smith even wrote and bound a release entitled 'You can find inspiration in everything, (and if you can't, look again')

So in looking at things differently I went into 'A single man' without any idea of what to expect. All I knew was that Tom Ford, the visionary, was directing his adaptation of the 1964 novel by Christopher Isherwood.

His version, as if a surprise to anyone is much classier and updated with rich cinematography and the most elegant details down to the gold lighter used. In the novel George lived in a very different and far less glamorous way. I'm sure the original George wasn't dressed head to toe in chic Tom Ford suiting... but it's certainly more pleasing to the eye for Fords huge fashionisto following.

Tom Ford wants to be naked, as if we didn't already know!

Photobucket

Mega-designer/director/sex icon Tom Ford is not afraid of nudity. He encourages it not only in his professional life but also in his personal life.

Quoted as saying:

“I stay this way pretty much 24 hours a day. Richard [Buckley, his long time boyfriend] is very funny.
He is usually completely dressed. He does not like to be naked. So he is in the house; we are having dinner.
I am sitting there naked; he is sitting there completely dressed.”

Solarium glasses by TOM FORD

I can understand why it took someone like Tom Ford to release the following product. After all he is an icon in both design and sex appeal. His complexion is nothing short of Greek isle bronze which begs the question. How?

In walks Tom Fords' solarium eye covering! BronzĂ© [TF 140] for either man or woman. The glasses protect your eyes and allow you to concentrate on baking tanning to your hearts content. The stylized plastic frame comes with leather tie back and is available in dark Havana, shiny rose gold and ivory.

The TOM FORD eyewear collection is handmade in Italy by Marcolin.

Tom Ford releases new fragrance 'Vetiver'

Can you handle it? I own a few great scents but I often pick up one of two bottles: Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford. Now with a new fragrance set to be released by Tom Ford, I am anxiously awaiting the day I can pick up a bottle of it's smelly goodness. The name 'Vetiver' is a fragrant grass native to India which is closely related to lemon-grass. It's often cultivated for the essential oil in it's roots- a popular top note in fragrances.

Luxury Obsessed who received an early preview called it "...an absolute classic. It is an extremely dry and crisp fragrance with a sparkling, dry citrus opening evocative of Champagne."

I can't wait. (NOW AVAILABLE IN NORDSTROMS)
