Bagyong Falcon (Tropical Storm Falcon) June 23 PAGASA Weather Update


At 2:00 am today, Tropical Storm "FALCON" (MEARI) has maintained its strength and continues to move West Northwestward and now threatens Extreme Northern Luzon.

Tropical Depression "Falcon" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 290 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (14.7°N, 127.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advises all residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

TS "FALCON" is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Gale Warning is issued over the eastern seaboard of the country and the western seaboard of Luzon and of Visayas.
