"Tween Hearts" Extended; ‘Tween Hearts Academy: Class of 2012′ Movie Now Filming

GMA-7's Sunday hit youth-oriented series "Tween Hearts" is not only extended until September but a movie adaptation is in the works!

Because of good performance in the ratings and a growing fan base, GMA-7′s “Tween Hearts” was extended once again. It will air until this September which means the youth-oriented program will reach its first year on television. And who knows, if clamors are still strong, the Kapuso Network could make another extension by that time.

Aside from the TV show, a movie adaptation based on the weekly series is in the works! The working title of the said movie is “Tween Hearts Academy: Class of 2012″ and it is said to be the second television series created by GMA Network to be adapted by GMA Films. The first was the Angel Locsin-Richard Gutierrez starrer, “Mulawin.”

The movie will revolve in a same story but with different names, charaters or roles, and with additional cast. This will be directed by Mark Reyes who was successful in directing “TGIS The Movie”. This will be topbilled by the love teams of Barbie Forteza – Joshua Dionisio or JoshBie and Bea Binene – Jake Vargas or JhaBea/JaBea, together with Joyce Ching and Kristofer Martin, Lexi Fernandez and Derick Monasterio, Louise delos Reyes and Alden Richards, and Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose.

The film is scheduled to open in theaters this August.
