World's Shortest Man is Pinoy Junrey Balawing According to Guinness Book of World Records


Junrey Balawing, from Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines was declared the world's shortest man by Guinness World Records on Sunday, June 12, the day of his 18th birthday.

The titled was bestowed on Junrey by Guinness World Records representative Craig Glenday at his native home in the fishing and farming town of Sindangan and witnessed by his parents, villagers, journalists and town officials showering the area with a feast of roasted pigs and seafood, cake, balloons and cash gifts.





Junrey, a poor Filipino blacksmith's son, measured only 23.5 inches (60 centimeters) tall. He took over the title from Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal, who is 26.4 inches (67 centimeters) tall.
